Volunteering With Us

Volunteering with Us

The incredible support of our volunteers is what keeps the heart of Hopewell alive. We have many volunteers giving their time and talents, enabling us to provide a professional and caring service. In turn, many of our volunteers find personal enrichment through being part of the community of care that serves people of all ages. If you would like to become a vital part of a well-respected and highly regarded organisation then we would love to hear from you, as we have a wide range of volunteering opportunities on offer.

Living Well Volunteering

There are several positions at Living Well Respite Centre that our volunteers faithfully fill each week. If you have a caring and friendly personality with some time to spare each week or each month, please consider becoming a living well volunteer. Every volunteer working at Living Well must first complete our standard volunteer training along with additional training if required for the position, our Palliative Care Holistic Workshop facilitated by Hopewell Education Services.

Positions Available:

  • Volunteer Nurses
  • Activities Assistants
  • Massage Therapists
  • Personal Carers
  • Hairdresser
  • Beauty Therapist
  • JP Services
  • Cooks

Our Process

Initially, all enquiries about volunteering go to our Volunteer Coordinator, Margo Amundsen. Margo works on Monday and Wednesday mornings so please give her a call on 5625 1900 to have a brief discussion on volunteering with us. The next step is to come to Hopewell and have an Informal Interview with Margo. During this interview she will explain:

  • The structure of the organisation and all the services provided;
  • The areas of volunteering available;
  • The requirements before starting;
  • The mandatory training and the additional training offered.

Margo will then show you around and give you all the required paperwork including an Application Form and Police Check or Blue Card depending on the area you volunteer in. The last step is to return all completed forms and participate in our Workplace Health & Safety Training held on the first Monday of each month plus complete any additional training if required for your particular role.
